In the article, we will provide you step-by-step guide to installing your printers, cash drawer and POS system (IPAD).
Unplug all electrical devices before installation or service to reduce the risk of electrical shock and property damage.
5.1 Hardware Checklist
1.Thermal POS Printers
1a. 80mm thermal paper rolls
CAT5 with RJ45 head for all devices,
Cable with RJ12 head for cash drawer.
5.Internet cable wall outlet
Configure Printers for Wireless Printing
5.2 Step 1A : Connects printer to laptop and to cash drawer.
5.3 Step 1B: Find out the default IP Address of POS printer from the Test Print slip.
Note: Different printer has different steps to test print. Read the manual.
5.4 In general, there are 3 stages to the complete configuration of printers for wireless printing for POS:
Stage 1: Configuration of laptop (to enable Stage 2)
Stage 2: Configuration of the printer(s)
Stage 3: Configuration of the POS system (the IPAD)
5.5 Stage 1: Configuration of laptop (to enable Stage 2)
Connect laptop to the printer using Ethernet cable as mentioned in 5.2 .
Adapter may be needed to connect Ethernet cable to the laptop.
Laptop used for this illustration is based on Mac Book.
After Network Preference is selected, the following screen appears.
Continue with the steps below to establish network IP address for communication between the laptop and the printer.
5.6 Stage 2: Configuration of the printer(s)
Now that laptop has been setup to communicate with the printer, we are ready to configure the printer from the laptop.
Change the default configuration of the printer to the new IP address desired, e.g. 192.168.1.21
Printer reconfiguration is completed.
Step 15: Connect the printer to the router (or any wall outlet that is connected to the remote router) using Ethernet cable. The end result is as shown below.
5.7 Stage 3: Configuration of the POS system (the IPAD)
Step 16: Turn on the IPad, Go to Settings. In the Settings screen, select the current WIFI network (e.g. Aptsys).
Notice the existing IP Addresses are based on “Automatic” assignment. Change the Configure IP to “Manual”
Step 17: Change the automatic IP Addresses to manual/static IP Addresses for the IPAD (i.e. IPD Address), Subnet Mask and Router.
Step 18: Open up the Aptsys Jade POS App and Go to Settings.

The Settings screen is shown below.
Step 19: Open up the CMS and Go to Jade Settings. Create a printer with Name and its IP Address to enable printer selection for each PLU
Step 20: Open up the CMS and Go to the Item PLU to define the correct Printer to print order. Example shown below is for illustration.
Step 21: Open up the Aptsys Jade POS App and Go to Settings.
POS System Validation Test
Step 22: Test if the completed setup is functioning.
